This fall The Canary Project co-founders Susannah Sayler and Edward Morris will be in residence at Indiana University (Bloomington) where they teach a class, work with students on climate-change related projects and put on an exhibition at the SoFA gallery titled The Canary Project: Works on Climate Change 2006-2009.
The exhibition, which opens September 4th, will feature both new and old Canary Project work, including a 20-foot photographic mural (see above image) and other new photographs by Sayler; new installation work by Sayler/Morris and Joshua Kit Clayton; the debut exhibition of material from Green Patriot Posters (with a mural by Diego Gutierrez); recent work from Canary Stories (Amanda Burr); and previously exhibited work by Jon Santos, Annie Murdock and Eve Mosher.
A lecture series for the exhibit will include Fritz Haeg (September 18th) and William L. Fox (October 2nd). Morris and Sayler will also give a talk prior to the opening on September 4th. The opening will feature a performance by Joshua Kit Clayton.
